## What I am trying to do

I want to convert a reference file using Studio document processing in our workspace, so I opened our platform menu and looked for document conversion tools to start the workflow.

## What happened

I could not find the Studio document processing option in our navigation menu, and when I attempted to open a conversion tool link directly, the system returned an access error.

## What I tried

I checked my Agent settings and opened Instructions Studio to confirm where the controls were located. I also verified that I was logged into our primary Organization account before searching for the tool again.

## Environment

- Intended feature: Studio document processing (document conversion)
- Organization: [Redacted]
- User role: Staff member
- Source format: PDF document
- Error text: Feature unavailable or access restricted

> **Availability:** Studio document processing is enabled per Organization by Alkimi. If you cannot see it, your institution does not have it switched on yet. Contact [sales@alkimi.ai](mailto:sales@alkimi.ai) to request access.

## Short answer

Studio document processing appears once Alkimi enables it for your Organization. Until then the conversion tools are hidden from the navigation menus, so there was nothing to find in your own settings.

## Why this happens

Instructions Studio is generally available for prompt editing, and Studio document processing is managed separately:

- **Alkimi grants it at the Organization level.** Access is arranged with Alkimi rather than configured by your campus administrators, so there is no in-product switch for your own admins to find.
- **It is off by default.** The document conversion tools appear in your workspace once your Organization is enabled.

## What to do

1. **Confirm which tool you need** , Studio document processing rather than the standard Instructions Studio editor.
2. **Email [sales@alkimi.ai](mailto:sales@alkimi.ai) from your institutional address**, naming your Organization, to request access.
3. **Test with a small non-sensitive sample file** once access is granted.

## How to verify

- Studio document processing options appear in your workspace action menus.
- A fictional sample document converts successfully from end to end.

## If it still does not work

Once access is enabled, post a new topic in Support tagged `studio` with your source format, target format, and redacted error message. Attach a small non-sensitive sample file rather than student records, confidential files, private system keys, or internal network links. A sample that shares the formatting of the original is usually enough to reproduce a conversion problem.
